In the past month I’ve had 6 people ask me this question, so I decided to post a short tutorial for flash developers in the future. There are many reasons you may want to use a transparent background for your FLV file…Maybe you’re using a gradient background in your html file that you really like, or maybe you’re stacking divs using Z-Index, and have a flash file somewhere in there that needs to have a transparent background. Whatever the case, if you are a flash developer there will most likely be a time when you need to implement this.

Hey everybody! This evening I wanted to give you a brief introduction into arrays. In this lesson we’re going to find out who was listening in 7th grade Algebra. *wink* No, honestly if you didn’t do so well in Algebra you will still be able to grasp the idea of arrays in PHP. So here goes:
In this tutorial I’m going to show you the proper way to connect to a MySQL database, and how to input and retrieve data from it using PHP. Knowing how to properly query a database is a basic function of any programming language, and so it is important that you know how to do it with PHP and MySQL. Here’s the video I created for you guys:
As I promised in the video, I told you I’d provide you with step by step instructions including the source code, so here goes:

Today I am writing to stress the importance of making at least one blog post per day. I’ll start by stating: A blog a day will definitely keep the search engines at play on your website, BUT ONLY IF THE CONTENT IS USEFUL!!! By having updated, relevant, original content on your blog you are telling search engines that you are “the real deal”. Quick Fact: The more you blog, the more search engines crawl your website. Why is the frequency at which search engines crawl your site important? Because it allows you to establish TRUST quicker:

Hey guys…Today I’m going to expose some of the biggest myths in the internet marketing industry. I’m sure you’ve watched programs, and have come across websites where “The World’s Greatest” internet marketers have promised you wealth, and everything you want in life with the stipulation that you buy their book or go to their overpriced conference. The fact is that if these guys were making so much money off of things other than their book and conferences that you are paying for, then they wouldn’t want to teach you how to do what they’re doing! It would be completely idiotic of them to do that, because they would actually be creating competition for themselves. People who claim to have gotten rich off of the web, and now want to teach you how are most likely phonies. These people are the Mrs. Cleo’s of the web, and if you buy into their crap you’re going to get burned. Anyway, this article is about the myths of internet marketing, so let me get to it! Here goes:

The other day I was listening to one of the brightest minds at Google – Matt Cutts speak at a Google I/O event. During his speech one of the questions he asked the audience was “Why Do You Blog? What is the purpose of your website?” The room filled with silence…No one really knew what to say. After a few seconds Matt answered his own question: “To Make MONEY!!!” Making money is the main purpose of all websites and blogs, and it’s okay. You don’t have to feel bad about trying to make a profit off of your own hard work, because that’s what everyone is doing. If there was no incentive to blog or provide useful information then not many people would do it would they? Here’s a video of the Google I/O event in case you guys were interested:

Today I’m going to let you guys in on a few easy ways to improve the way your website ranks in search engines. First and foremost I need to let you know that if you’re looking for high volume traffic and good rank, you need to have valuable, original, high demand content. This is where most webmasters, bloggers, and content writers go wrong when creating their website’s material. Instead of creating material that is useful, original, and interesting, people just write about the first thing that comes to mind, and pay no attention to what users really want. Do some research! Find out what key terms people are searching for, and pick something that ties into your websites theme to write about. To find out what keywords are in high demand try using Google’s Keyword Tool. With it, you can search key terms, and find out how many times they are normally searched. It will also provide you with similar terms, and suggestions to help you in your quest to improve your search engine rank. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way let’s discuss how we can take those high volume terms, and create content that does well in Google, Yahoo, and Bing(formerly Live).

Two questions I get a lot from people who are just starting out, or people who are looking to really “up their game” is:
How do I get myself, and/or my product out there?
&
How do I build a client base if no one knows who I am?
These are both very good questions, and over the years I’ve come up with a short list of ways entrepreneurs, home business opportunists, and individuals seeking more in life can successfully create a web marketing strategy the RIGHT WAY! What I mean by the right way is not trying to trick the system. You need to actually have a product or service that is valuable to people. I am not a supporter of spam…a.k.a “Mass junk email marketing”. If you are selling a guide entitled “How to lose 100 pounds in a week”, or a pill that promises to make you 30 years younger, then please read no further. You are wasting your time, and I honestly don’t want to share my tips with you. On the other hand if you offer a legitimate, valuable service or product then I hope you find use in these tips. Here goes:
