A Few Myths About Internet Marketing EXPOSED!

Hey guys…Today I’m going to expose some of the biggest myths in the internet marketing industry. I’m sure you’ve watched programs, and have come across websites where “The World’s Greatest” internet marketers have promised you wealth, and everything you want in life with the stipulation that you buy their book or go to their overpriced conference. The fact is that if these guys were making so much money off of things other than their book and conferences that you are paying for, then they wouldn’t want to teach you how to do what they’re doing! It would be completely idiotic of them to do that, because they would actually be creating competition for themselves. People who claim to have gotten rich off of the web, and now want to teach you how are most likely phonies. These people are the Mrs. Cleo’s of the web, and if you buy into their crap you’re going to get burned. Anyway, this article is about the myths of internet marketing, so let me get to it! Here goes:

  1. Opt-In Pages – For those of you who think that opt-in pages are the key to your success on the web think again. Can opt-in pages be successful? Yes they can, and were very successful in the past, but as users become more tech savy, and conscious of who they give their email address out to for fear of spam, they tend to stay away from these opt-in pages. Ask yourself this question…Why do I need someone’s email address if they are not interested in my product? Also from the user’s standpoint ask yourself: Why does this person need my email address unless they’re going to send me promotions that I may not want?…A.K.A. spam. How does this user know if they want promotions on your product if they are only given a vague description of the product through your opt-in page. This all ties into the principle I’ve mentioned in my previous posts…When marketing on the web BE LEGIT! Stop trying to get rich quick, and trick the system. People don’t want your spam, and by not revealing what your product is before asking a user to opt in you could be missing out on a lot of potential customers.

  2. Vagueness Intrigues People – This is the biggest load of crap I’ve ever heard. If anything, being vague about your product or service is complete marketing suicide. The internet has been around long enough now that people are savvy enough to be able to wade through the junk, and a vague product description is an immediate alert to JUNK! Nothing says spam like a vague description, and a box asking for your email address so you can “learn more”.

  3. Importing RSS Feeds as Articles or Blogs Into Your Website Will Help Your Search Engine Rank – WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! Posting other people’s content on your site will not only drive people away because they’ve seen the content before, but Google and other search engines will penalize you big time for duplicate content. I would say it’s worse to get caught with duplicate content on the web than it is to get caught plagiarizing in college. Don’t do it! It’s okay to show a list of links from RSS feeds or something, but don’t post other people’s content to your site unless you are trying to get to the bottom of search rankings quick.

My Thoughts

After reading this if you still feel the need to purchase Sambooka’s Quick Guide To Getting Rich on The Internet then by all means go ahead. I will say it again…these people didn’t get rich from their internet marketing techniques…they get rich by people like you who believe them, and buy everything they have to offer. Hey…this is just my opinion though…I hope you enjoyed it.
